About

You’re the reason.

Welcome! I’m so happy you’re here.

You’re the reason I do what I do. You fill my life with meaning and purpose. You’re it for me!

Thank you. Thank you for using the courage that’s gotten you through your worst days to start making the positive changes you desperately need.

Maybe you woke up this morning (or stared at the ceiling all last night) knowing that you can’t continue like this and you need to try something different.

Or maybe it’s been your worst day. You feel completely lost. Nothing you’ve tried seems to work.

There may be a part of you that’s still not quite sure… most of my clients experience some level of ambivalence or uncertainty about going to therapy.

Guess what! That’s okay!

Therapy is a risk!

You’re sharing parts of yourself – parts that, perhaps, you’ve never shared with anyone before.

And you’re sharing them with a stranger.

Yes, I’m a therapist – my job is to understand, reflect, support, and help you grow, but I’m still a stranger, at least for now.

You’re also investing your time and money into the process hoping for results that aren’t guaranteed.

You must decide.

Is it worth it?

Is the risk worth the possibility of the type of change you know would set you on the path toward a better life – one that transcends even your imagination?

Playing it safe generally leads to more of the same. You know that.

The type of change you’re looking for demands some sort of risk. Aren’t you worth that risk?

Isn’t the life you imagine worth that risk?

I understand. I welcome your ambivalence.

Part of you will probably be relieved. I’ll hear you, care for you, seek to understand you.

Another part may be saying “Danger!” Maybe you’ve been avoiding this in a misguided effort to protect yourself and stay comfortable in the discomfort.

It’s okay.

You’re welcome here. All of you.

There’s no time like the present!

I’m ready…

when you are.

What could life be like after therapy?

Have you ever thought about what your goals really are?

You’re one of a kind. What does the life you want look like?

In our very first session, you and I will work together to map out the path to your happiest and healthiest self.

More importantly, we’ll determine how you’ll know we’re making progress.

Imagine waking up well rested after a night that hasn’t been interrupted by anxiety, pain, or nightmares.

Imagine feeling prepared for – even excited about – the day ahead of you!

Your thoughts are more positive, your mood is stable, you’re intentional about your actions, you’re very aware of your inner strengths and power.

You can handle the difficulties that every day life throws at you without becoming overwhelmed.

You enjoy your relationships again… including the one you have with yourself!

You feel lighter, happier, cared for, and you know where you’re going.

You’ve CREATED your purpose, and you don’t let anything hold you back – not your past, not your own prior beliefs.

You’ve GOT this!

Therapy is a safe space.

When we’re working together, you’re safe.

You can truly be yourself.

You don’t have to fear criticism or judgment.

You can experience amazing growth and become the person you’ve always wanted to be – one who can solve problems or accept the problems that can’t be solved and move forward.

You can truly THRIVE!

“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so
with some passion, some compassion, some humor and some style.”

~Maya Angelou

About Me

I get it. I really do. I get it because I’ve been there… a couple of times.

And I, like you, somehow found the courage to reach out and get support.

I’ve been through my own therapy; although the journey was long and treacherous at times, it was worth it!

I overcame the difficulties life threw at me and discovered not only how strong I am as a person, but also my purpose – I realized I could be “that person” for others, and I was embarking on an amazing journey. I was right!

After receiving my PhD in Clinical Psychology, I now enjoy the most meaningful and interesting profession I can imagine. I love what I do and I truly care for the clients who share their lives with me. It’s an incredibly unique relationship. I’m honored to be able to experience it time and time again.

I’ve worked in a variety of settings with incredibly diverse and wonderful people.

Through my experiences working with a wide range of presenting issues – severe mental illness to life transition issues – I’ve discovered that my power lies in working with people with anxiety, trauma, chronic illness/pain, fears/phobias, and life transition issues.

I am passionate about the work that I do and fully devoted to you.

When I’m not working, I’m spending time with my family and friends riding our bikes, spending time at the beach, playing games together, reading, and experiencing the world through travel, museums, community events, and food!

I truly love my life…

Let me help you create a life that you love too!
